Junior Landscape & Garden Maintenance Assistant
Location: Marrickville + Inner West
Type: Casual / Part-Time (2–5 days per month)
Pay: Above-award, based on experience
About the Role
We’re expanding our landscape and garden maintenance crew and looking for reliable, hands-on workers who want consistent paid work outdoors. This role suits students (TAFE / Uni), young adults, or anyone interested in horticulture, landscaping, or practical trade work.
About the Property
Large backyard on the Cook’s River with established gardens, native plants, hedges, and ongoing landscape projects. The block slopes down toward the river, so the work is outdoors, hands-on, and varied.
Key Responsibilities
Planting new ground covers
Assisting in developing a native plant garden
Caring for specialty and unique plants
Hedge trimming and general garden maintenance
Mulching, weeding, soil prep, and clean-ups
Light landscape labour (nothing structural like retaining walls)
Occasional help with irrigation, shaping beds, and seasonal tasks
Garden maintenance: mowing, trimming, planting, mulching, weeding
Basic landscape labouring and site preparation
Clean-ups, green waste handling, general outdoor tasks
What We’re Looking For
Ages 16–27 preferred (no experience required)
Enjoy working outdoors and doing physical work
Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
Drivers licence ideal but not essential
Suitable for TAFE horticulture / landscaping students, landscape architecture students, or anyone looking to enter the industry
