Mental Health Support Worker

Hello!
We're a NDIS Provider posting on behalf of a participant located in the Redland Bay Area. We are looking for Complex Mental Health Support Workers to introduce to their team.
We are ideally looking for the following traits:
• Tertiary Education in a Mental Health related field, such as Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Etc.
• Prior Experience providing support to participant with COMPLEX Mental Health.
• Working in a Trauma Informed framework
• Experience working with participants who have Dissociative Identity Disorder (D.I.D) (specifically hands on experience working with multiple Alters of all ages, or prepared to learn how to work/engage in this space).
• Psychotic Depression
• ASD
• ADHD
• OCD
• Female Worker Required
• Mental Health First Aid Training
• Full Open License.
• LGBTQIA+ Friendly
• Bird Friendly
• Non-Smoker (Severe Asthma)
They require supports across the week and hours will be determined in collaboration with the participant, care team and worker. We do require someone willing to start on smaller hours (such as 2 hours) to build rapport initially.
Some of these supports may include:
• Prompting/Assisting with maintaining self-care and the home environment in both an ADHD and OCD friendly manner. Including hygiene, grooming, meal preparation and meal times, grocery shopping, medication management, cleaning/tidying the home environment, attending the community (and appointments if required), assistance with laundry, reviewing schedule of appointments or upcoming events, feeding pets (birds).
• Understanding of sensory processing difficulties and assisting to recognise and provide appropriate support to work through these if they arise.
• Understanding of command auditory hallucinations and ability to work through these.
• Assistance to build, develop and maintain a routine in a collaborative manner.
• Understanding of Catatonic Depression, Selective Mutism and Autistic Burnout.
• Understanding of D.I.D and how to work with people who do have multiple alters/personalities/soulmates and also understanding how individual differences will affect the persons experience.
• Understanding of disassociation and regulation techniques, particularly experience with co-regulation with someone when they are heightened.
• Assistance with managing self-harm behaviour where appropriate and working with them to de-escalate.
