Job Description
Playful Endeavour is a popular family play activity run 3 times a year in Glebe Park, Canberra.
The event is staffed by Play Facilitators. The Facilitator is a front-line representative of Green Hat Workshop, working under the guidance of the Workshop Manager and senior facilitators.
Inspired by a Playworker style approach, Green Hat Workshop PARTS Facilitators interfere as little as possible during Play, rather they influence a participants activity by changing the environment - introducing new resources, starting a creative activity and moving away when a participant engages, creating something inspiring, or showing appreciation of a participant’s work.
Working under a Miscellaneous Award, facilitators are paid $30 per/hr for 4-5 hr shifts outdoors, rain, hale or shine, with time and a half overtime for unrostered hours.
Facilitators make our workshop spaces inviting by creating 'soft' entry experiences, inspiring, interacting with and welcoming participants, tidying the space where necessary.
We will be operating out of a shipping container and facilitators will work with their working partner to pack-out at the beginning of the day or to pack-up at the end.
Essential
Able to move multiple objects of various weight and shape,
Able to collect, distribute and sanitize multiple objects
Good communication and works well with others
works well with children and parents
Working with children & vulnerable people check
Patient and positive attitude in ALL situations
Ability to work comfortably in a busy child centered environment
Trustworthy, reliable and prompt
able to work independently and to follow directions
Resilient, energetic team member with a “can do” attitude.
Desirable
Flexible time availability
Ability to ‘look outside the box’ and with empathy of different perspectives
Leadership experience in child-centered environments
First Aid certified.

Adhere to correct management of personal and professional boundaries
Act at all times with respect to everyone (in regards to age, ability, colour, religion, race, gender identification, sexuality and nationality without exception).
Comply with Green Hat Workshop’s Health and Safety and COVID-Safe policies .
Weekend and holiday pay is not available for this casual role.
