Job Description:
As a Mental Health Support Worker at ELM Care, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities in their daily lives and promoting their active participation in the community. Your responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting with Daily Living: Provide assistance with activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication management, fostering independence and self-care skills.
Mental Health Support: Offer empathetic and understanding support to individuals dealing with mental health challenges, promoting emotional well-being.
Community Participation: Encourage and facilitate community engagement and social activities, ensuring clients have opportunities for inclusion and interaction.
Safety and Comfort: Maintain a safe and comfortable living environment for clients, addressing any immediate needs or concerns promptly.
Documentation: Accurately record client progress, incidents, and achievements, ensuring compliance with NDIS guidelines.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow team members, including healthcare professionals and NDIS coordinators, to provide holistic care.
Professional Development: Stay updated on best practices in disability support and mental health care through ongoing training and development.
Requirements:
Own ABN/TFN
Own Car and a valid driver's license
A compassionate and patient demeanor.
Good communication skills.
COVID19 Vaccination
A Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
Relevant qualifications in disability support or mental health (preferred but not mandatory).
