About the opportunity

The Peer Facilitator will play a crucial role in supporting a Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) Consumer-led grant aimed at promoting enhanced engagement of adolescents in public health research that impacts them. The project will use low-cost, web-based platforms and digital tools to build adolescent capacity and evaluate the impact of our approach using an established scientific framework. Working as a part of the research team, the Peer Facilitator will be responsible for supporting the key deliverables of the grant and ensuring adolescent representation in all aspects of the grant.

Peer Facilitators will work closely with the Research Coordinators and the wider team to co-design and implement a large online open course aimed at engaging adolescents in preventive and public health research. Key responsibilities include working with Peer Facilitators, Research Coordinators and the wider team to develop content for the online open course. They will support the development and implementation of this course to ensure it creates a sense of belonging and community for adolescents interested in research. Peer facilitators will assist in the planning and execution of events or functions aimed at engaging adolescents in research. The research team will build the capacity of Peer Facilitators through training and ongoing support to fulfill their roles effectively.
