UMPIRES AND REFEREES
• Are you experienced in umpiring/refereeing Netball, AFL or Soccer?
OR
• Do you want to learn how to umpire/referee Netball, AFL or Soccer?

Kelly Sports is a ChildSafe organisation and the largest provider of Sports Programs and Clinics for primary school aged children in Australia. Kelly Sports goal is to enhance each child’s physical education and well-being by providing expert umpiring and coaching over a wide range of sports. Our aim is to give children of all abilities a Lifelong Love of Sport.
Kelly Sports is currently looking for enthusiastic, active and committed Netball, AFL and Soccer umpires/referees to join our extensive team.
The roles involve casual hours rewarded with good remuneration. Umpiring matches will be for school aged children ranging from ages 6-16. Hours will be after school or on Saturday mornings, with some opportunity to umpire in-curriculum .
Availability required for Umpiring AFL/Soccer positions will predominantly be on Saturday mornings with some week days from 4.00pm.
Availability required for Netball umpiring positions is from 4.00pm week days with some Saturday morning work.
The role will commence from April 2022.
To become part of our Kelly Sports umpires/referees team applicants must
• Be outgoing, friendly and sports minded people
• Capable of umpiring/refereeing Netball, AFL or Soccer OR
• Be willing to learn umpiring ( training will be provided)
• Have knowledge of current by-laws for Netball, AFL and Soccer competitions.
Requirements include:
• Working with Children Check – DHS or Child Related Employment Screening (mandatory)
• Child Safe Environments Training – Responding to Harm, Neglect & Abuse -RHAN (mandatory if over 18 years of age)

• First Aid ( mandatory)

• COVID-19 double vaccinated as per the emergency management for the education & early childhood settings COVID-19 direction 2021( mandatory)

• First Aid– training can be provided
• Umpiring experience or accreditations (desirable) OR be willing to learn
• Some experience working with primary and or secondary aged children (desirable)
• Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children
• Be punctual and reliable
• Good communication skills
• Flexible working hours
Secondary school students are also encouraged to apply.
