Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for students currently undertaking studies in the field of Physiotherapy with an interest in neurological conditions and with people living with a disability to join the new and expanding ICAN (Institute Clinical Advancement of Neuroplasticity) team.

About the Role
ICAN is a new and exciting charity focused on Neuroplasticity and Lifestyle Medicine currently seeking physiotherapy students to assist with the promotion and provision of therapeutic supportive care needs of patients within our specialised settings in the community, working with and receiving guidance and support from a multidisciplinary team of Nurse Practitioners, Allied Health, Neuropsychiatrist, and other medical specialists with a strong emphasis on proactive care provision. We are a collaborative team with a focus on professional development and innovative best practice. Wellbeing of our staff and quality of life is very important to us and we have flexible hours to suit each candidate’s personal circumstances.

Located across the Southeast Queensland corridor, we have locations in Brisbane, Esk, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and South Stradbroke. Positions available in each of these areas.

Strengthen your academic knowledge and implement your practical skills assisting with the promotion of participants needs through physical therapy, mobility, balance and even functional abilities. Having a multidisciplinary team around you to assist with improving a person’s emotional, social and physical needs. Carry out a support of wellness programmes integrated through the use of diet, exercise and wellbeing programs in treatment plans, integrated mental health, and rehabilitation.

• Previous experience or placements working with people living with a disability, although not essential
• Ability to work autonomously and part of a team.
• Must be able to work well in multidisciplinary team.

• Understanding or willingness to learn medical documentation and ability to use technology a preference but training is available
• Experience and/or passion to work in acquired brain injury, movement disorders, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, stroke, spinal cord injuries, or developmental disorders would be advantageous.
