Aboutthe opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has becomeavailable for a Senior Geologist (CriticalMinerals).
The Senior Geologist isresponsible for updating and improving the States knowledge of itscritical mineral resources and critical mineral potential, throughthe assessment, collection and interpretation of geoscientificinformation and data, with a particular focus on Rare EarthElements (REEs). The position will contribute to a greatergeological understanding of the States resources and mineralsystems, thereby promoting mineral prospectivity and growth in theState.

KeySelection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated deep knowledge and experience in understanding REE deposits and occurrences differentiated by their type (for example IOCG-related, ionic clay-hosted REEs, vein/breccia hosted REEs, magmatic-related REEs).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of analytical techniques used for investigating REE occurrences and their geological setting
  • Ability to communicate effectively and express ideas clearly and coherently, both verbally and in writing.
  • An understanding of South Australian geology is highly desirable
  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia
  • Qualifications:
    Postgraduate degree majoring in geology or equivalent relatedfield.

    Remuneration:
    PO3 $98,313– 103,936 per annum
    Full-time role,working 37.5 hours per week

    SpecialConditions:

  • This is a contract position for a period of 12 months.
  • Out of hours work may be required.
  • Field work may be required.
  • A current driver’s licence is essential.
