Job Description

This Company is nationally recognised, working from within the Adelaide and Perth warehouse, distributing window furnishing products to blind retailers and manufatcures. They have a team of professionals made up of ambitious and hard working people.

About the role:

This role is responsible for effectively managing the warehouse, regarding all stock and freight movements and implementing improvements within the warehousing environment, as well as managing the warehouse staff to optimise their productivity while meeting all aspects of EHS and cost objectives.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Manage staff daily and provide direction according to daily priorities.
  • Review daily time keeping system to ensure accurate recording of hours worked.
  • Participate in formal reviews and appraisals conducted by the National Operations Manager.
  • Work with freight and logistics providers regarding daily movements of freight to our customers and stock transfers between interstate warehouses and site locations.
  • Manage resources to effectively handle all inbound and outbound freight movements, including but not limited to the loading and unloading of containers, local and interstate vehicles, and the associated documentation.
  • Loading of trucks as required to meet targeted turnaround times.
  • Ensure stock counts and inventory accuracy are achieved in line with company targets.
  • Assist with quality issues raised on all local and overseas stock as required.
  • Ensure faulty product is quarantined both physically and electronically
  • Involvement in regular production meetings: General Toolbox.
  • Assist the National Operations Manager in recording KPI’s.
  • Ensure yourself, along with the warehousing staff are constantly working on continuous improvement and housekeeping activities to provide a safe and effective work environment.
  • Participate to improve internal Audits results.
  • Lead by example, promoting a safety culture and actively participate by offering suggestions to the EHS committee members.
  • Report all HR issues to management immediately.
  • To be successful in the role you will need to have:

  • Certificate in transport and distribution warehousing considered an advantage.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with a range of stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in enforcing and promoting a culture of safety.
  • Previous exposure to an RF/paperless environment is an advantage.
  • Forklift License.
  • Computer literate with sound PC software knowledge, including MSWord and Excel.
  • Able to work unsupervised.
