Operating for more than 50 years, Rae-Line is one of the largest commercial upholstery, sports and safety padding companies in Australia. We supply some of the biggest names in the automotive, heavy transport and sports padding industries including Kenworth, Jayco, Paccar Parts, Bounce and Socobell. 

Based in a modern manufacturing complex, occupying ten factories in Kilsyth, Rae-Line currently employs more than 135+ employees.  Due to continued growth during and post Covid, Rae-Line is seeking a full time Human Resources / OH&S Manager to manage all HR and OHS activities.

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? 

 
Reporting directly to the Leadership Team, Rae-Line requires a savvy permanent full time HR / OH&S Manager to be accountable for all people and culture matters together with OH&S compliance and activities. Working Monday to Friday with some flexibility around hours.   

Success in this role will come through your strong focus on internal relationships and past experience with Enterprise Agreements. As someone who genuinely cares about people and ensuring a safe, healthy workplace, you will enjoy connecting and collaborating with the team on the factory floor through to the Leadership Team, being seen as an approachable counsel. 

The role is supported by a payroll administrator. You will have a proven ability to work in a hands-on dynamic role, being flexible to adapt from high level strategic to highly operational tasks with ease. Leveraging strong communication, analytical and influencing skills is essential.  Experience within the Manufacturing industry would be ideal. 
  

WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES?

  • Demonstrated experience negotiating and/or Enterprise Agreement interpretation
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting Manufacturing, Clerical and Road Transport Awards
  • Demonstrated extensive experience processing payroll 100+
  • Review weekly time sheets to ensure business compliant with EA & modern awards
  • Review, create and update HR policies & procedures
  • Develop/review EVP
  • Provide support for Workforce planning 
  • End to end recruitment and selection 
  • Managing the employee lifecyle from onboarding to offboarding
  • Continuous improvement of onboarding and induction programs
  • Performance management 
  • Learning and development strategies to retain staff
  • Create/review/audit company wide position descriptions
  • Develop succession planning strategies in consultation with leadership team
  • Assist developing training strategies to service all areas of business 
  • Enhancing Organisational culture 
  • First back up and support to weekly payroll processing (in absence of payroll officer)
  • Leading OH&S strategies and implementing initiatives for the business, promoting awareness of safety and obligations for all staff 
  • Develop and support company reward recognition strategies
  • HR Reporting (all HR metrics, budgeting and analysis)

WHAT IS THE SELECTION CRITERIA? 

To be successful in your application you will need to meet the following criteria: 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications 
  • Previous experience in a similar HR role for 5+ years? 
  • Current knowledge of Fairwork & IR legislation including OH&S 
  • Strong knowledge of Enterprise Agreement interpretation
  • Strong knowledge of modern awards (Mano, Clerical & Road Transport)
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to communicate respectfully with staff across all levels 
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills 
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint? 
  • High attention to detail
