About the role

We are seeking a Supervisor: Asset Maintenance to develop best practise asset lifecycle management, to ensure ongoing operational and cost efficiency. This includes leading maintenance services (preventative, emergency and regulatory compliance) and Minor Capital Works across the SCS portfolio.

In this exciting role as a Supervisor: Asset Maintenance with strong Facilities Management experience, you will be responsible for:

  • assisting in the development of a SCS Asset Management System in accordance with ISO 55002:2018
  • developing and leading the Asset Maintenance Strategy and Plans for each School and associated sites including best practise preventative maintenance regimes, sustainability strategy, regulatory requirements to enhance plant/asset performance and reduce operational costs
  • working with SCS Procurement to implement and maintain Service Level Agreements for all key maintenance disciplines of work
  • leading and managing the Maintenance planning and Minor capital Works delivery teams, providing direction to team members on all asset maintenance and Minor Capital works
  • developing and managing dashboards (using PowerBi) and monthly reporting for all maintenance programs and Minor Capital Works for each School
  • leading, auditing and developing processes to inform and prepare the annual budget requirements for the maintenance of the whole SCS portfolio
  • working closely with the Project Delivery Supervisor in the assessment, prioritisation and coordination of Major and Minor Capital works for the optimal efficient and safe delivery of Capital works
  • being on call for emergencies.

    About you

    To be successful in this position, you must possess:

  • tertiary qualifications in Asset/Construction maintenance or related discipline
  • 10 years professional experience in related fields
  • effective Management of annual capital budgets
  • significant capacity to lead and mentor a team, developing expertise in contemporary building maintenance, sustainable and safe work practices
  • experience in collaborating in teams delivering innovative and sustainable projects within strictly controlled timelines and system budgets
  • experience in assessing and providing technical advice with respect to asset and facilities management of properties
  • ability to analyse cost effectiveness of a project to ensure projects represent equitable solutions for need and good stewardship of the systems resources
  • capability to collaboratively resolve complex problems with initiative, analysis and evaluation, and creativity
  • skills in utilising a variety of communication techniques to support management and colleagues, and to influence numerous stakeholders
  • competence in working with a range of specialist software packages such as Microsoft Office (for reports, presentations and budget control); and project management software to assist in tracking project delivery and TechnologyOne
  • knowledge of a range of all legislative and regulatory requirements relevant to the maintenance of schools.
  • It is also desirable for the successful candidate to have:

  • experience in school facilities maintenance, or equivalent
  • Post Graduate qualifications
  • current driver’s licence.
