Maintenance Supervisor

Ventia are currently looking to engage a qualified experienced Maintenance Supervisor. This full time, Melbourne Metro based position will see you working within the Estate upkeep team as part of our national Defence contract. 

The successful Maintenance Supervisor will provide supervision and co-ordination to internal and subcontractor trades, to effectively maintain, repair, replace and ensure the integrity and performance of facilities and equipment within the estates.

To be successful in application, you’ll need to be able to clearly demonstrate your ability to provide the following:

What you’ll be doing

  • Communicate with staff and Subcontractors to ensure that they are kept informed of any issues relating to contract performance and compliance. 
  • Coordinate delivery of projects to comply with the contract expectations and timeframes.
  • Ensure that work site instructions are followed including Risk Assessments, Job Analysis, Hazard Identification, and In Process Inspections. 
  • Ensure all works are being carried out as required by contract specification and building standards/ building codes. 
  • Identification, supervision, and day-to-day control of subcontractors, including performance monitoring and recommendations on work allocation. 
  • Conduct and record inspections strictly in accordance with the schedule provided to ensure compliance to our quality plan.
  • Skills and Experience:

  • Formal trade background with experience in facilities maintenance on a range of building related works and repairs
  • Competence in computer-based applications such as MS Word, Excel and Project, SAP experience desired but not essential
  • Competence in report writing, procurement principles and quotation preparation
  • Hold a Valid Australian Drivers Licence
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to the different metro defence estates
  • Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Flexible to meet the demands of after-hours work and the ability to participate in an on-call roster
  • You must be an Australian Citizen and be able to obtain an ADF/DCAC Clearance
