Job Description

We are seeking applications from students currently completing an Undergraduate Nursing entry to practice qualification (Bachelor level and above) to join Monash Health as a Registered Undergraduate Student of Nursing (RUSON). This paid position is integral in supporting the nursing team in the delivery of safe, effective care. As a valuable part of the ward team RUSONs work under the supervision of a Registered Nurses/Midwifes, within clearly defined role parameters.

Working as a RUSON facilitates students’ professional growth and offers an opportunity to get a head start in a Nursing career within Victoria’s largest public health service.

About You: 

  • Currently enrolled in second year or above of a Bachelor of Nursing Degree, Nursing and Midwifery Double degree, or Master of Nursing at an Australian university that will lead to registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Have completed at least one clinical placement
  • Be able to provide a transcript showing successful completion of the first-year of the qualification in which you are enrolled
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills including building rapport with patients, colleagues and family members and confidence with conflict resolution
  • Ability to work as a caring, pro-active team member who is motivated to learn and develop new skills
  • Ability to work AM/PM/ND shifts across a 7-day rotating roster (around clinical placements)
  • Must be available to work a minimum of 1 shift per fortnight
