About the role

EPA Victoria has an exciting opportunity to enhance engagement in science through delivering citizen science and outreach initiatives to improve community engagement and deliver outcomes for Victorian communities.

Duties

Lead and manage EPA’s Citizen Science Program, including informing the strategic direction, program delivery and partnerships, to ensure program outcomes are met.

Collaborate across EPA and with external stakeholders to inform the direction, planning and delivery of science outreach activities to enhance the delivery and engagement of science.

Apply your science understanding to support the translation of scientific/technical information so it can be understood by a range of audiences, including the general public.

Skills and experience

Graduate qualifications and/or relevant experience in applied/environmental science/science is mandatory. Post-graduate qualifications in a relevant field are highly desirable.

Experience within a science-based organisation in a citizen science, science outreach or education role.

Demonstrated experience and capability to plan, monitor and deliver projects/programs.

Science translation and/or science communication skills to assist in the translation of scientific/technical information for various target audiences.

Flexibility to travel within Victoria, as required.
