Rooms Division
At the Oval Hotel, our team is passionate about delivering exceptional and personalised service to all guests arriving and departing the Oval Hotel. Our Rooms Division positions are essential in providing exceptional guest experiences and we are looking for “guest obsessed” individuals who have an outstanding eye for detail and can provide exceptional customer service, execute cleaning, upkeep and presentation of the Oval Hotel to a luxury standard.
To be successful in these roles, your key focus will be to provide an efficient and professional service to all guests, that strives to exceed all service quality expectations.
Room Attendants – have an eye for the finest of detail and play an important role in servicing rooms to luxury standard. You will be responsible for making our rooms feel like a home away from home, whether it’s making the bed just right – ready for a good night sleep or cleaning the rooms to a high standard so that they feel brand new, quality and detail will be your calling card. You’ll also be responsible for restocking and replenishing bath care products, mini bar items and changing out all of the linen requirements. Not only will you deliver exceptional rooms, you will also be essential in helping guests throughout their stay should they have any questions or need assistance. Public Area Attendants – help to keep our Oval Hotel beautiful and are essential to ensuring public accessed spaces of the hotel are kept to a luxurious 5- star international standard. First impressions last and as a Public Area Attendant you will be responsible for ensuring guests public facilities are presented in clean and tidy manner. This includes servicing spaces such as the lobby, restrooms, hallways and restaurants. You will be proactive in your approach to the cleanliness of areas and will regularly conduct inspections to ensure your spaces are of the highest of quality. The pride you have for the presentation of spaces will be represented by the attention to detail you give to each space. Shifts for these roles may include working hours from 4am until 8am. Houseperson – you will play an important role in ensuring that the Housekeeping team is supported in all facets of the upkeep and presentation of the Oval Hotel. You’ll be responsible for ensuring stock and amenities for the department is replenished and up to date and assist with the management of linen stores. Not shying away from the nitty gritty, you will also lend a hand to the housekeeping team by performing cleaning task and housekeeping duties. As the houseperson, you will thrive on teamwork and be hands on when contributing to the hard working Housekeeping team by to assisting them with day to day operations. Shifts for these roles may include working hours from 5pm until 9pm. Guest Service Agent – the key focus of the Guest Service Agent is to deliver a high standard of exceptional and personalised customer service to guests at the Oval Hotel. Whether it is helping our Front Desk Team to check in guests, the successful candidate will thrive in the environment of wearing many different hats. As an important role in providing assistance to Oval Hotel guests, you will be warm, welcoming and “guest obsessed”, all while ensuring the presentation of the Oval Hotel is at the highest quality. Significant experience in guest services and using a Property Management System (PMS) such as Opera is required. Guest Service Agents should maintaining immaculate personal presentation and a welcoming presence as well as having an outstanding attention to detail. Hotel Porter – the Hotel Porter is the first interaction many of our Oval Hotel guests have and requires exceptional customer service by assisting guests with their luggage and personal belongings to their rooms. You will also deal with general enquiries from guests and deliver on requests in a prompt and courteous manner. A requirement of this role is a full unrestricted drivers license, offering the hotel Valet service, parking and retrieving cars with care and consideration. From time to time you will be required to assist with transfers in the Hotel transfer Van. All of these roles require individuals who are reliable, have strong communication skills and have the ability to work autonomously as well as collaborating well in a team environment.
