We require casual staff to teach into the various content areas in our pre-registration nursing courses. The role will perform specified teaching-related duties, such as conducting tutorials, simulation classes or workshops, presenting lectures, and marking. Casual rates for academic teaching duties include both the presentation or delivery time and the associated working time, which incorporates preparation, student consultation and contemporaneous marking (marking that can be reasonably performed during a teaching session). Pay rates and further information can be found in The University of Sydney Enterprise Agreement 2018-2021.

  • a degree or diploma in nursing/midwifery and registration with AHPRA as a registered nurse

  • relevant Masters level qualification

  • demonstrated expertise in nursing and/or health care more broadly and commitment to the principles of evidence-based practice and their application

  • relevant tertiary teaching experience

  • completed or working towards completion of a Master of Philosophy or PhD in a relevant area
