  • Digital Support for Labs is the part of the Labs of the Future program that will bring an enterprise-wide, secure and sustainable digital evolution to the labs owned and run by CSIRO. The program will develop digital solutions for labs that integrate lab equipment with IT systems in a way that is cyber safe and compliant with international standards and regulatory agency requirements. The solutions will be standardised across all (or most) CSIRO labs, to make it easier for researchers, instruments and data to move between labs; and to streamline IMT support.

    The role will be primarily focused on supporting the Digital support for Labs Program and will be instrumental in engaging with research business unit stakeholders and understanding how our teams use the organisations lab environments. This role will also play a significant part in defining and implementing team capability development, applicable frameworks, process and artefact improvements, governance contribution, compliance, and awareness activities.

    We are seeking a highly adaptable, analytical and a self-motivated candidate, who will work well in a fast-paced and complex environment, whilst managing competing priorities under the direction of Cyber Resilience leadership.

    Your duties will include:

  • Lead and provide general security guidance (e.g., initiate discussions to support security activity project planning) to the program.
  • Lead and provide compliance guidance (e.g. CGMP, GMP, GLP, others)
  • Development of policies, procedures to drive best practice in the design and operations of the organisations laboratories.
  • Develop security risk assessments to identify and assess the security risk posture of a solution and identify the key applicable treatment recommendations.
  • Lead and/or perform gap assessments solutions and provide recommendations that would help guide those solutions to meet their intended target state, or to meet specific security best practices and standards.
  • Lead and/or perform compliance audits on lab systems and lab operations against common lab practices and standards.
  • Perform quality reviews of security deliverables in accordance with the team’s quality assurance processes

    Salary : AU$121,455 – AU$142,321 per annum plus up to 15.4% superannuation

    To be considered you will need:

    Essential

  • Demonstrate a good understanding of regulations, industry standards, and leading practices related the area of operational risks specifically in lab type environments eg ISO IEC 17025, ISO 15189, ISO 9001, ISO 13485
  • Demonstrated experience in the definition, design, and assisting in the implementation of appropriate controls to mitigate against the risks and non-compliance in lab operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in scoping and conducting compliance assessments in lab environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating the accreditation of lab environments through good design.
  • Excellent presentation skills plus ability to talk to all levels of staff including Executive and ability to persuade and influence.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills along with the ability to apply initiative, autonomy, quality of work, and teamwork.
