FRONT OFFICE DUTY MANAGER

At the Hotel Grand Chancellor Melbourne we have an opening in our front office team. If you are an experienced Guest Service Agent who is looking for the next step towards your hotel management career, we are seeking a Duty Manager to be part of our progressive team. The successful person will have hotel operations knowledge, will be motivated, reliable and is passionate about the hotel industry.

Reporting to the Front Office Manager, the Duty Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day front office operations to ensure all responsibilities pertaining to the role are carried our proficiently. The Duty Manager will be dedicated to consistently delivering a high standard of customer service, leadership and have sound knowledge of hotel’s products and services.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Meet and greet guests and assist with registrations and departures.
  • Attend to all incoming calls in a professional and polite manner and ability to handle guest requests according.
  • Process guest mail, messages and deliveries as requested.
  • Arrange accommodation for guests travelling to other destinations if required
  • Assist with special requests, information, restaurant and airline reservations and any other reasonable requirements.
  • Ensure all Front Office team are familiar with the hotel’s products and services, current promotions, policies and other important information.
  • Handle all guest grievances and enquiries in a courteous, efficient and satisfactory manner.
  • Maintain positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.
  • Ensure all guest history records are accurately maintained.
  • Promote guest relations by conducting regular lobby walks, talking to guests and encouraging feedback.
  • Monitor daily arrivals ensuring all special requests are actioned.
  • Any other ad hoc responsibilities as required

  • This position is offered on a permanent full-time basis and you must be able to work a flexible roster including days, nights, weekends and public holidays.
