In this pivotal role, your responsibilities will include:

  • As a warehouse supervisor you will be responsible for the operation in the warehouse, including receiving, picking, dispatch and inventory as well as leading the team and driving improvements. You will be reporting to the warehouse Manager, you will also manage a medium sized team of 30 – 40 staff.
  • Supervise the daily operations of the warehouse to ensure that both people and equipment are employed efficiently.
  • Ensure cost effective warehouse practices are in order to meet customer’s service demands, and to continually improve warehouse operations.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment that complies with company and statutory requirements.
  • Liaise with all CSR departments to ensure smooth day to day operations, and resolve any issues in a timely manner.
  • Required to spend a great amount of time in the office making sure training modules. are up to date among other administration tasks.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to enable you to effectively lead the team.
  • A history in people management.
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Strong understanding of practical processes within stock control & logistics.
  • To succeed in this role, you must have the following:,

  • Ensure accurate receiving, storing dispatching and high quality of leadership.
  • Actively participate in the development and improvement of current processes within the warehouse.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and adherence to OH&S policies by all the team members.
  • Training, mentoring and development of staff members through high engagement, support and communication.
  • Having the ability to work autonomously and with the team.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure deliveries schedules meet set deadlines.
  • Must be able to work under pressure, use initiative and multitask.
  • Demonstrated experience in warehousing supervision and/or team leading.
  • Construction industry knowledge is beneficial, but not essential.
  • Experience leading & developing teams & building a productive team environment
  • Track record of success managing and implementing agreed change processes
  • Demonstrated success in managing resources, including to workload within agreed cost targets
  • Demonstrated ability to reduce costs by reengineering work processes whilst maintaining quality outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to understand Supply Chain as a service provider to internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated ability of working with planning systems including MRP and warehouse management systems.
  • Have a good understanding on Excel Spreadsheet and computer literacy, as this role requires data recording and systems improvement.
  • Be open to work flexible hours and Saturdays as required.
