EL1 Assistant Director, Research and Evaluation

Senior Role – Disability Sector
Attractive Salary – 12 month Contract
Flexible Working Arrangement

Reporting to the Director, Targeted Research and Strategic Evaluation, this leadership role is responsible for conducting research and evaluation to best inform Agency decisions.

Exercising a reasonable degree of autonomy and accountability, the role requires a high degree of initiative and judgment to interpret legislation and policy in the application of practices and procedures to achieve desired outcomes.

You will be responsible for providing detailed technical, professional, policy and operational advice in relation to complex issues, and be required to assist in the strategic planning, program, project management and policy development to support the Agency’s objectives to build a world renowned service.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Leading mixed methods research and evaluation projects using a range of quantitative, qualitative and survey methodologies
  • Ensuring research and evaluation is conducted in accordance with appropriate guidelines and ethics requirements, and maintaining all project related documentation
  • Working with internal stakeholders to identify, prioritise, scope, develop and manage project plans
  • Preparing and presenting internal reports and research summaries for all stakeholders
  • Designing and conducting research projects, including working with people with various types of disabilities and from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Ideally you will possess:

  • Exceptional continuous improvement capability to identify opportunities, generate ideas and implement solutions.
  • Effective leadership and decision making skills to identify and understand problems and opportunities by gathering and analysing data and choosing appropriate action to optimise outcomes.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to ensure stakeholders (internal and external) needs are met and to ensure productive relationships and stakeholder satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Supporting and coaching individuals in the team to develop trust, maximise knowledge and skills to ensure a commitment to the action plan for successful performance outcomes.
