Job Description

Penny’s Bakery in Channel Court, Kingston are looking for hard working and enthusiastic full time 1st Year Apprentice Baker to join our team.

Completing an Apprenticeship with Bakers Delight involves more than just going to school or training. Our apprentices are hands on from day one. You will learn the art and science of baking through formal training, through one-on-one coaching and support from baking team members and through practice, practice, practice.

Apprentices who are either in their 2nd or 3rd year are also encouraged to apply.

This role will involve early starts (from 4am) and you will operate on a rotating roster which may include weekend work. This position will start off initially as part-time but is expected to become a full-time position.

Responsibilities and Duties
As an apprentice baker, you’ll be responsible for:

Baking and presenting quality product to meet changing customer needs

Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the bakery

Assisting with stock control and production expenses

Learning new skills and products

Providing delightful customer service when required

Qualifications and Skills
To be considered for this role, you will need to:

Have a passion for baking, ideally with some work experience

A positive attitude and thrive in a team environment

Have basic literacy and numeracy skills

Be reliable and committed to the role

Be prepared to work hard and get your hands dirty
