    About This Opportunity

    We are seeking a highly motivated Administration Officer to provide a high level of administrative support to the UQ Agri-Food Innovation Alliance.

    Working under the general direction of the Alliance Manager and the Director of the SURF Project, you will provide support across a range of activities, specific projects and initiatives to support the Alliance. You will be expected to work collaboratively to provide optimal support to a range of stakeholders.

    (SAFS) operates within the and delivers knowledge, skills, research and innovation to ensure global food and water security and to create a more sustainable world.

    is a SAFS project funded by the Australian Government and links research and education in agri-food science with small to medium enterprises. Working with South-East Queensland food producers, we aim to transform innovation and ideas into advanced production methods, commercially viable foods and smart supply chains. Our project teams of UQ researchers and industry collaborators have wide-ranging agribusiness expertise across broadacre cropping, winter chilled fruit, viticulture, sub-tropical horticulture, dairy, beef and poultry farms, and seafood.

    About You

  • Degree qualifications in business, education, administration or another related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience from within a university and/or education/training.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, handle sensitive and confidential matters, negotiate effective outcomes and work effectively as a member of a range of different teams and different stakeholders.

  • Strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to work autonomously, prioritise work to meet competing deadlines and work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Highly developed verbal and written communications skills.

  • High level of computer proficiency and digital literacy skills including Microsoft software, databases, websites and social media platforms.

  • Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively and flexibly in a small team environment, with a commitment to the delivery of excellent customer service.

    This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment through to June 2024 at HEW Level 5.

    The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $74,378.89 to $82,842.92 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $87,023.30 to $96,926.22 per annum.
