Assistant Store Manager

Job Description

We’re looking for an who will report to the Store Manager based in Winnellie and help achieve sales and profitability growth for the assigned store, through leadership and development of the store team. Undertake operational responsibility for the assigned store in the absence of the Store Manager. 

Responsibilities  

EHS 

  • Establish a safe work environment 

  • Ensure all injury /incident reports are completed to time frame and reported to Line Manager 

  • Ensure monthly EH&S audits are completed and action any issues and improve any finding within a set timeframe 

  • Leadership 

  • Demonstrate and role model leadership behaviour including customer focus, accountability, ownership, teamwork,, and promote engagement 

  • Plan, direct, and participate in the operations of the store on a shift basis

  • Perform role following PPG corporate values. 

  • Achieve Sales 

  • Work with Store Manager, store team & Trade team to maximise sales potential 

  • Help the Store Manager reach revenue and growth targets in consideration of the stores goals and individuals P&LP 

  • Meet the product and service needs of our customers

  • Lead a sales approach that maximises value by focusing on the features and benefits of PPG products, and our service proposition 

  • Support marketing and promotional plans maximising sales potential 

  • Maximise the potential of customer relationships 

  • Operate point of sale system and preparing sales invoices following company policy 

  • Deliver store customer service standards by demonstrating and coaching colleagues the 4×3 Customer Service Protocol – Welcome, Understand, Solution, and Sell 

  • Increase sales using the 4×3 Selling Application System – Preparing, Prime and Seal, Finishing 

  • Achieve Store Compliance Standards 

  • Assisting in the management of expenses, inventory and stock take in consideration of P&LP goals 

  • Maintain store standards to always benchmark and personal presentation standards (uniform and grooming) 

  • Ensure compliance with company procedures 

  • Training 

  • Attend PPG state-based training 

  • Undertake Sales Techniques, store presentations, customer service and Ethics training 

  • Help with the training of staff 

  • ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Tint paint and colour match and make product recommendations to customers 

  • Maintain store housekeeping standards following company standard 

  • Stock receipt, maintain orders and transact customer sales through the Point-of-Sale system 

  • Perform role following PPG corporate values 

  • Sales achievement as decided in the PLP 

  • Ad hoc tasks 

  • Qualifications  

  • Retail/ customer service experience 

  • Forklift license 

  • Business POS Software Literacy 

  • Availability to work and travel between stores plus working weekends/public holidays
