The opportunity?

As the result of current demands, Silk Hospitality has a new opportunity for an experienced Human Resources Advisor to join our head office in the Perth CBD. Reporting to the HR Manager, this key role will work with a small team of HR personnel, and work on a broad range of HR related tasks across the business nationally.

Key role responsibilities will include:

  • Provide verbal and written advice on all aspects of the employment lifecycle, including rates of pay, disciplinary procedures, termination of employment, anti-discrimination, workplace bullying, anti-discrimination, privacy laws, superannuation, workers’ compensation and workplace health & safety
  • Assist in the creation, development, implementation and modification of policies, procedures, guidelines and training
  • Provide advice on the Fair Work Act and other associated legislation, Awards, Agreements, and Policies, and have the ability to research options and provide practical recommendations
  • Provide support, interpret clauses and technical information and drive the correct course of action with Employment Relations activities and issues
  • Keep informed and up to date about current trends and changes to policies and legislation
  • Assist with OHS and Workers Compensation claims when necessary
  • Manage visa applications and record, ensuring compliance to current legislation.
  • Provide day to day advice and dispute management solutions in line with industrial agreements and fair treatment process;
  • Undertake research and investigations as and when required

About you?

Professional in presentation and approach, you are well versed across all aspects of human resources, and have previous experience in a similar fast-paced, multi-faceted role.

Other key experience & attributes include:

  • A genuine passion for human resources and an unwavering commitment to providing outstanding customer service to your relevant stakeholders
  • A tertiary degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or equivalent
  • Minimum  three years of experience and demonstrable success in a similar role
  • A sound working knowledge of all HR functions, and solid competency of HR practices, principles and applicable legislations
  • The ability to lead by example, and work as part of a high-energy team
  • Personable in approach, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to build successful and collaborative working relationships
  • Possessing strong time-management skills, you are comfortable multi-tasking, are well organised and possess solid problem-solving skills
  • Confident and comfortable making informed decisions, with a strong work ethic, and a positive, reliable and dependable nature
  • You are innovative, with the ability to think on your feet and outside the box
  • Excellent computer literacy, and highly proficient across the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Previous experience with Flare HR advantageous
