  • $51,599 – $63,940 + up to 15.4% superannuation – ASC Grade 2

    Who are we – AIS Residences is a Branch within the AIS Operations Group. The AIS Operations Group delivers end-to-end ownership and visibility of the ASC facilities and campus experience for athletes, coaches, sporting participants, and National Sporting Organisations/National Sporting Organisations for People with a Disability (NSOs/NSODs), community groups and the public, from strategy to operations and service delivery. The Group manages all commercial operations, facilities and the coordination and delivery of performance camps, sports camps and events. The Group also leads the Site Strategy Program. 

    The Residences Branch ensures the effective delivery of the AIS Residences, comprising the Residence of Champions and Athletes Village, which cater for groups of all sizes including long and short stay residents focusing primarily on athletes from the high-performance sector but also open to other guests and groups. The Residence of Champions incorporates the AIS Dining Hall serving athletes and other guests healthy meals designed by AIS nutritionists and prepared by a catering contract partner. These operations and services help to deliver consistent and sustainable success for Australian athletes and teams, drive demand for lifelong participation in sport and optimise revenue generation. 

    The Branch also has a critical role in providing a positive presence to NSO/NSOD athletes living or staying within the AIS Bruce campus residential environment. This includes first response and/or mediation support to NSO/NSOD athletes, whilst maintaining and implementing appropriate referral, reporting and record management systems and procedures; and assisting with the provision of AIS Bruce campus services to NSO/NSOD athletes. This includes (but is not limited to) athlete inductions, onsite employment, study hall coordination, and various personal development initiatives.

    What we want – We are seeking friendly, energetic and detail-oriented individuals to deliver exceptional support to NSO/NSOD athletes. You will:

  • Provide exceptional athlete service by responding to athlete needs and requests promptly, efficiently and courteously throughout their stay.Maintain a proactive approach to building excellent rapport with athletes.
  • Developing strong understanding of athlete’s needs, provide first response handling and confidence in mediating and resolving issues including through appropriate referrals, consultations.
  • Work collaboratively with Branch service providers (Residences operations, housekeeping, catering, security, etc) to ensure a great campus experience for athletes.
  • What the applicant needs

  • Tertiary qualifications in an interpersonal degree or relevant experience working with adolescents.
  • Experience working in a higher performing sport or other high performance environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of a high performance sporting and/or communal environment.
  • Knowledge of issues that may arise within this unique environment and mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated skills in forming effective working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Administration skills will be an advantage.
  • Mental Health First Aid and First Aid.
