About US

The Nguddaboolgan Native Tile Aboriginal Corporation (NNTAC) is the Prescribed Body Corporate for the Djungan People. NNTAC holds the native title rights and interests as agent for the Djungan People as determined by the Federal Court of Australia.

Djungan People’s determined lands span from north of the Walsh River near Dimbulah up through Mount Mulligan and Kondaparinga Station to the Walsh River in the north. Djungan People also have other areas of interest which do not form part of their determined lands as far as southeast of Dimbulah to the border of Cattle Creek.  

NNTAC has exclusive possession native title over Kondaparinga Station in the heart of Djungan People’s country.

About the Role

Based in our Cairns office working closely with the Project Coordinator, and under the direction of the Board of Directors, our Administration Officer is responsible for acting as the first point of contact and ensuring the efficient day-to-day management of the office and business administration. This role will vary with a range of activities inclusive of administrative and financial tasks. Within this role, you will be required to provide exceptional service whilst maintaining high productivity levels and a professional and friendly manner.

Key duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with a variety of people
  • General office administration acting as the first point of contact
  • Record keeping, minute taking, and database management
  • Providing administrative support to arrange Board meetings in accordance with the requirements of the NNTAC Rulebook, including preparation and circulation of meeting notices, proposed agenda and any other documents requested or required for the purpose of the meeting.

About You

This position will ideally suit someone who is proactive, with a happy disposition and enthusiasm for all things administration, proven organisational skills, high-level computer literacy and proficiency using MS Office and Xero software.

Essential Requirements

  • Certificate III in Accounts Administration (FNS30322) and/or Certificate III in Business (BSB30120) or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a similar role, and/or bookkeeping experience
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work and liaise with First Nations people and organisations; and facilitate their involvement in meetings, consultations, and project activities
  • Demonstrated knowledge or the ability to obtain knowledge of Native Title and the PBC operating environment including relevant legislation
  • Proven experience with organising and coordinating bookings, meetings, and events
  • Ability to prepare and process general correspondence on behalf of an organisation or management
  • Experience and skills in maintaining filing systems
  • Experience in using Xero accounting system
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
