How will I help?

Westpac Banking Platform domain are looking for a Senior Front-End Engineer to join the team. The purpose of this role is to build solutions and enhance Westpac’s applications which will be used by various customers and consumers to apply. The Banking platform team has several exciting projects that enable new features for our Digital, Lender and Broker Channels.    

The role will operate predominantly in an Agile environment, and such will be required to support the technology capabilities to effectively deliver value to customers, and be responsible for leading the design and developing ‘fit for purpose’ IT and business solutions to meet the requirements of several projects across the Banking Platform portfolio.

You will work on enhancements and fixes to existing products and services, monitoring of existing products and services using Splunk, and refactorization of existing applications to make it more performant.

You will also design and develop new screens using React and NodeJS using high standard of coding and participate in a highly collaborative environment from requirements gathering through to version release.

What do I need?

To be successful you will have the following experience and/or skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of commercial experience in React and NodeJS with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent design, coding, monitoring and documentation skills.
  • Strong hands-on experience using current Backend technologies such as Java or Scala.
  • Commitment to agile development, TDD and pair programming.
  • Commitment to design patterns, technical documentation, and innovative thinking.
  • Commitment to improving the company’s development processes.
  • Expert understanding of Git, Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket.
  • Experience with Jenkins.

Nice to Have

  • Team leadership experience
  • Experience with DevOps, Docker, AWS, Spring, CI/CD.
  • Experience with Selenium and Cucumber.
  • Experience of working in Finance industry.
