Employment Type: Full – time (35 hours a week)

Duration : 3-Year Fixed Term

Remuneration: From $136K base (+17% super, leave loading)

Location: Kensington, Sydney NSW

Why this role matters

This position provides the opportunity to conduct high quality research and make a significant contribution to educational excellence in the School of Health Sciences within the Faculty of Medicine and Health. You will make a significant contribution to the delivery of the Exercise Science and Exercise Physiology programs teaching within the discipline, and through content development within the sub disciplinary areas of exercise behaviour change, physical activity and/or health or sport psychology. The School of Health Sciences has new degrees in Exercise Physiology, Dietetics, Pharmacy and Physiotherapy and this position has opportunity to contribute to new inter-professional experiences while developing discipline specific content and research.

Who you are:

  • A completed PhD in a related discipline
  • Actively stays up to date with discipline knowledge and development.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches, development and delivery of courses and programs, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
  • Experience of implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence and fostering this in others.
  • Evidence of professional development of teaching practice in self and others with the ability to advance and lead an inclusive culture of excellence in learning and teaching.
  • Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience in sub-disciplinary areas of exercise behaviour change, physical activity, and/or health or sport psychology.
  • Current accreditation or ability to gain accreditation in Exercise Science and/or Exercise Physiology with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (desirable)
  • Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience in the supervision of research students at Honours and higher degree level.
  • Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with the profession and industry and attract funding for learning and teaching initiatives.
