The Role

We are seeking a Research Consultant to join our Individual Insurance team.

The focus of this role is to support the product research aspects of individual life insurance to build customer trust and provide partner support. In this role, you will develop detailed analysis of the Australian insurance market including competitors across product definitions and features, commercial, and services using qualitive and quantitative research.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting relationship management with research houses / companies and ensure research houses accurately reflect MLC Life Insurance’s product features, premium rates, and services.
  • Delivering analysis and impact assessment of current and proposed product changes including communication of opportunities and impacts.
  • Providing periodic updates on MLC Life Insurance’s competitive position for premium rates and product features for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preparing and providing relevant information about MLC Life Insurance and its competitors support business decisions and sales.
  • Creating thought leadership articles, research, and presentations.
  • Monitoring the market and provide insights on competitor changes.
  • Providing accurate product data / written submissions for tenders, awards, and surveys.
  • About You

  • Degree qualifications in a business-related field, or equivalent extensive insurance experience (highly desirable).
  • 4 + years’ experience in an insurance or investment research or data role, qualitative and/or quantitative.
  • Demonstrated experience in deriving actionable insights from research to drive business value.
  • Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
