Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) Pty Ltd is a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment. 

The Opportunity

Due to growth in our Western Region, our Tom Price branch has an exciting opportunity for a trade qualified Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic / HD Fitter to join our team. The key focus of this role will be to provide breakdown, service and planned maintenance support on a range of Hitachi Construction and Mining equipment.

Working a flexible FIFO roster that suits your needs, you will:

  • Perform onsite repairs on a wide range of Hitachi equipment
  • Attend to site breakdowns within Tom Price and surrounding areas
  • Undertake diagnostic work
  • Liaise with a network of customers within the territory, whilst building strong relationships
  • Work with internal technical support staff to achieve successful maintenance

This permanent role will allow you to access OEM training while you build a long-term career in a global company. To be successful in this role you will:

  • Ensure the HCA Safety Culture is embraced, displayed and driven from within – safety takes priority over everything else
  • Hold relevant Australian (or Australian recognised) mobile plant trade qualifications
  • Have experience, knowledge and understanding of civil and mining equipment
  • Have a strong work ethic and the ability to work autonomously within remote areas
  • Have good communication and customer service skills with the ability to build long term relationships
  • Have great technical knowledge and diagnostic ability (excellent technical knowledge of Hitachi mining equipment would be highly advantageous)

In return, you will receive:

  • Competitive pay rate starting at $65 per hour plus super + night shift allowance + company biannual bonuses (pay rate depending on experience)
  • Minimum 12hr days paid whilst working in the Pilbara on rostered days.
  • All travel hours on site paid – to/from site to camp and intersite.
  • Paid fatigue days while away in the Pilbara.
  • Scaled rates – potential to qualify for higher rate based on yearly performance & training completed.
  • Superannuation paid on all ordinary hours up to 12hrs per rostered shift.
