Job Description

As the successful applicant you will be part of North West Metro Region which has over 3710 operational police, 343 Victorian Public Service employees which include 115 Police Custody Officers. North West Metro Region is at the forefront of the delivery of policing services to a large, diverse and challenging segment of the Victorian Community.

About the role:

As the successful applicant, you will be responsible for providing a broad range of administrative support services to members of Division 1, North West Metro Region.

Your duties will include:

  • Providing administrative support to the Divisional Superintendent, Divisional Leadership Group and Staff Officer within a busy Police complex.
  • Perform a variety of computerised activities including data entry, typing and word processing.
  • Prepare routine correspondence on a range of administrative matters and attend to follow-up procedures as required with a high attention to detail.
  • Attend to telephone enquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.
  • As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing high level administrative services in a confidential environment.
  • Experience in working with computers and systems to perform a arrange of administrative tasks.
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise work with minimal supervision.
  • A strong commitment and a demonstrated record in meeting customer needs.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) full time ongoing position available.
  • Your usual place of work will be at Victoria Police Centre, Docklands at Level 2, Tower 2/311 Spencer Street, Melbourne. While this position will have a nominated usual place of work, the position may be required to work at other locations, in accordance with the provisions of the relevant Victorian Public Service Agreement.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer’s Direction – COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
