About the role of Marketing Specialist (part-time)

Reporting to the Marketing Manager – Tourism, Business and Major Events, the Marketing Executive (part-time) is responsible for assisting in the coordination and delivery of content and digital marketing activity for the Tourism, Business and Major Events department. The role supports the delivery of brand and tactical campaigns, ‘always on’ digital marketing across website, social, email, content marketing, and the development of collateral to support the needs of the broader business.

Your responsibilities will include;

  • Assist in the development of digital and content strategies in partnership with internal and external partners to maximise Visit Brisbane’s digital reach, engagement and share of voice;
  • Support the day-to-day management of Visit Brisbane destination channels across website, email and social media;
  • Support the implementation of activities that build the Brisbane destination brand including content curation and creation, managing influencer marketing and all internal and external collateral;
  • Support on project management and administration where required, such as contributing to departmental reports; and
  • Work cooperatively and proactively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the organisation’s objectives.

What you’ll bring

To be considered for this role, your background and qualifications must meet the following requirements;

  • Ability to commit to 3 full days per week, with one or two days from home if required;
  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing or other related degree;
  • Minimum 2 years’ marketing experience, preferably gained in consumer marketing, either in a marketing agency or in-house;
  • Demonstrated experience executing marketing activities and campaigns through digital channels in a consumer facing environment;
  • Demonstrated experience in content creation, content marketing and social media;
  • Proven ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, work under pressure, and manage multiple projects;
  • Strong copywriting and proof-reading skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (required) and Adobe software (basic preferable), including use and maintenance of databases; and
  • Experience producing post project/campaign analysis and reports.
