About the Role

The Key Account Manager role is an opportunity to be integral to the resilience and long-term success of a small number of significant clients for Swiss Re ANZ P&C. These are some of the largest and most complex ANZ based insurers.

You will be the voice of the client, a catalyst for sales excellence and work with your client leadership team to understand, prioritise, differentiate, and implement your clients’ needs to the mutual benefit of your client and Swiss Re. This role will enable you to use your experience, skills and capabilities in a multidisciplinary environment and help you further unlock your potential in the client management space.

Swiss Re ANZ is seeking a Key Account Manager with excellent technical reinsurance knowledge and proven success in fostering strong relationships to join the Sydney based Property & Casualty team. You will have overall responsibility for a key client portfolio including developing the strategy and plan, whilst also maintaining current business relationships and originating new opportunities.

This role brings a cross-functional proposition through collaboration with other teams such as underwriting, claims, transactions, solutions and actuarial, demonstrating the skills and capabilities of the broader team.

The main tasks and activities of this role comprise the following:

  • Direct sales ownership with all key client decision makers.

  • Works with Client Executive in management of global business relationships across all lines of relevant business, functions and regions.

  • Profit centre responsibility and accountability for your clients, including planning and budgeting.

  • Profitable growth-oriented business origination and active in force portfolio management leveraging SR Group’s full capabilities.

  • Ensures top quality execution of client planning, new deal opportunities and communication related to origination and negotiation.

  • Deal team leadership and support for large transactions.

  • Understands client motivation, needs, priorities as well as risk & capital drivers to align with SR’s deliverables.

  • Development of strategic marketing plan and implementation in conjunction with client leadership team.

  • About the Team

    Reporting to the Head of the Property & Casualty business for Australia and New Zealand, the team comprises several Client Managers and is responsible for combining new business opportunities with focused implementation and operational excellence.

    About You

    You will possess:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

  • Successful track record in business development, negotiation, consultative sales and sound decision making.

  • Re/insurance property and/or casualty background, with a sound knowledge of insurance corporate finance drivers.

  • Outstanding understanding of market dynamics and trends, re/insurance products and evolving client needs.

  • Knowledge of risk management (underwriting, claims, pricing) functions.

  • Proven track record of building productive and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at senior management level.

  • Strategic, innovative and creative perspective, problem solver.

  • Ability to understand situations from different perspectives to translate customer needs into sustainable reinsurance solutions.
