ET&L’s main role within the Department of Home Affairs (the Department) is to provide contract management and procurement support to the Australian Border Force (ABF) enabling them to detect and identify prohibited and restricted goods at Australian borders.
The technologies and services ET&L support include X-Ray, trace and substance detection, and transport and logistic services. These technologies are located at all airports and sea ports across Australia.

Position Summary:
The position is responsible for processing of payment of invoices for ET&L section and associated administrative aspects including maintaining invoice register, weekly reporting and record keeping for ET&L contracts. Applicants will need to have strong client service skills, be able to manage priorities, meet deadlines and have excellent attention to detail.
The position requires initiating contact and ongoing interaction with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, in the private sector, government and academia.

Specific Duties / Responsibilities:
The duties for the role are but not limited:

  • ET&L Invoice mailbox management
  • Quality assurance of invoices
  • Goods receipting of invoices in EasySAP
  • Prepare invoice reports on requests
  • Responding to written and telephone requests from internal and external stakeholders ensuring prompt payment of invoices
  • Maintaining a database of invoices/register
  • Other duties as required including record keeping and other administrative tasks
  • Maintaining work area files and recording systems. As part of your daily activities you are responsible for creating complete and accurate records in accordance with the Recordkeeping Practice Statement and Instruction and Guidelines – TRIM
  • Stock take, purchasing and processing of consumable orders.

Eligibility and Specific Conditions of Employment

To be eligible to work with the Department of Home Affairs you must:
