Seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic recent graduate to join a government team as an HR Business Partner. This is an excellent opportunity to start your career in human resources with a prestigious government department. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support in a range of HR activities, including employee relations, performance management, training and development, WHS and other HR-related functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Senior HR Business Partners with the management and resolution of complex employee relations issues including effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Provide timely and accurate day-to-day operational human resource advice, and support to staff and management.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date record keeping across all functions of Human Resources.
  • Develop, foster, and maintain strong working relationships and partnerships with internal customers and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor, and report on divisional People & Culture information including the preparation of routine reports, updating HR registers, along with providing ad hoc reports as requested.
  • Prepare complex reports, policy documents and communications on human resource matters.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legislative requirements related to day-to- day management of employees.
  • Contribute to and facilitate activities which lead to improvements in effectiveness and efficiency of human resource management services, products and processes.
  • Represent the department at external events when required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
