Laboratory Technician – Concrete (tamworth)

Boral are currently seeking an organised and experienced individual to join the team as a Laboratory Technician in Tamworth.

The position will largely involve field-based sampling of concrete and quarry products across a wide range of projects, from domestic work through to high level projects such as Bridges, Dams, roads and other large infrastructure projects. 

Duties include:  

• Conduct testing in accordance with laboratory work instructions, test methods, preparation instructions and manuals
• Liaise with technical and sales staff in relation to internal/external customer requirements 
• Maintain, observe, and take part in the statutory safety requirements of the Laboratory operation
• Maintenance of the Laboratory according to NATA accreditation requirements.

Skills & Experience:  

• A commitment to safety and quality
• Previous experience in a construction materials testing facility
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in laboratory operations, science or another relevant discipline e.g. Civil, Chemical or Materials
• Experience with computer systems for monitoring and reporting of data 
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Knowledge of Australian and Industry standards
• Strong analytical skills with a strong customer focus
• A valid NSW Drivers Licence
