About The Role

RPMGlobal is seeking a Principal Geologist to provide expert level mineral resource estimation, geological modelling and exploration advice to our global client base.  Reporting to the Practice lead, the Principal Geologist will oversee the day-to-day management of client relationships, projects along with working within the global resource pool. Mentoring and developing global resources including peer review of work will be a key part of this role.

To be successful in this role you will have a keen entrepreneurial mind, coupled with a strong commercial business acumen in order to provide the highest standard in mineral resource estimation for RPM clients. 

Global and domestic travel is a requirement of this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage opportunities, studies and projects for JORC (or similar) compliant Mineral Resource statements.
  • Provide Competent Person sign-off where relevant.
  • Contribute to ITR, DD etc. reviews.
  • Estimate geological models in accordance with project requirements.
  • Peer review of junior Geologists.
  • Mentor less experienced staff in Resource block model estimation.
  • Develop clients relationships to identify and maximise business opportunities for RPM.
  • Act as a Project Manager where required, ensuring projects are on-time and on-budget.
  • Scope client requirements accurately and ensure work activities are carried out to the client’s satisfaction.
  • Work on RPM projects as part of the Advisory global resource pool.

About You

You will have:

  • Geology qualifications obtained at a recognised University or equivalent, post graduate degree is desirable.
  • Extensive experience in mine geology with at least 10 years in mineral resource estimation using a variety of estimation methodologies.
  • A proven track record in geostatistical data analysis and Resource estimation.
  • An outstanding leader, influencer and relationship builder at all levels of an organisation.
  • Ability to sign of resources as a Competent Person (JORC) and preferably as a Qualified Person (NI43-101).
  • Competent user of mining and geostatistical software.
  • Membership of AIG and/or AusIMM.
  • A leader in the development of industry best practice.
