Holmesglen Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Food Services Assistant /Kitchen Hand to join our hotel services team on a part time basis. In this fast paced and varied environment you will take pride in your work, have a friendly and positive work attitude and a commitment to customer satisfaction. We are seeking an energetic, flexible team member available to work rostered shifts. Permanent part time hours negotiable.

It is important that you have the flexibility to work on a rotating roster – Monday to Sunday across the below shift times. Shifts times are either 6.30am-2.30pm or 4pm-8pm.

Holmesglen Private Hospital is a comprehensive 147 beds acute private hospital. Our hospital offers highly specialised services including an emergency department, advanced coronary care, cardiothoracic, orthopaedic and general surgery. These services are supported by a 6-bed intensive care unit, 9-bed acute coronary care unit and 7 operating theatres.

As a Food Service Assistant your responsibilities will include:

• Assist in daily food preparation and basic meal assembly
• Deliver, serve and collect all patient food requirements and meal trays
• Assist in general cleaning of kitchen equipment and utensils including dish and pot washing as required.
• Act as a valued member of an interdisciplinary team by promoting a professional and positive team culture.
• Provide high standard of customer service
• Operate in line with WHS policy & procedures
• Deliver excellent customer service to staff, clients and patients
• Have demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development

Essential Criteria:

• Authority to Work in Australia
• Working with Children check (if relevant)
• Experience in Hospitality (desirable)
• Food Handler Certificate or Certificate III in Hospitality (desirable)
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
• Excellent time management skills
• Commitment to service excellence.
• Strong communication and customer skills
• Attention to detail
• Work well independently and within a team
