The Role

  • The role involves planning, coordinating, delivering, and monitoring ICT projects and activities, ensuring the use of suitable processes for activity definition, estimating, sequencing and schedule development, and incorporating risk management principles and techniques to increase project success and reduce adverse impacts to project schedule, budget or quality of deliverables.
  • Leading the ICT Team in maintaining best practice systems and infrastructure management processes to ensure continuous availability and planned updates, whilst ensuring ongoing user support and training for core systems, including adequate and up-to-date documentation.
  • The Senior Manager must develop and maintain a trusted advisor relationship with internal stakeholders including the Board, Executive team, and senior managers.
  • They must also maintain effective working relationships with key vendors and consultants involved with client’s systems and infrastructure while ensuring all work undertaken within their areas of accountability complies with the company’s values, policies, procedures, codes of conduct, and legislative/regulatory requirements.
  • Providing expert guidance and support to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, including thorough business analysis, effective consulting and facilitation, and concise business case development.
  • Additionally, the role includes facilitating appropriate security control design based on business needs and the current threat landscape, addressing gaps in the control framework, and assessing the adequacy of information security controls compared to defined requirements and current vulnerabilities.

Your Profile

Our accredited organisation has implemented various frameworks, including Essential Aids, to enhance our expertise in information security. We can assist clients seeking accreditation and are looking for an experienced individual with a comprehensive understanding of managing and running information security protocols. Certification in this area, especially for managerial positions, would be highly appreciated, but we will consider all qualified applicants.

Information security is a significant concern, and our commitment to this critical issue requires us to prioritise hiring individuals who share our passion for maintaining the highest level of security standards.

Education and Qualification

  • A minimum of 7 years in a senior leadership role in ICT, security, risk, assurance, or compliance.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or an appropriate business discipline supported by practical experience in a discipline related to this position.
  • Possess information security certifications such as CISM and CISSP.
  • Desirable to possess other certifications such as SABSA or CRISC or willingness to attain.
  • Membership and participation in security organisations, such as (ISC)2, or ISACA.

ICT Management

  • Established and maintained strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Communicated clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing, including presentations to various groups.
  • Managed and developed teams, providing effective leadership and
  • motivation.
  • Proficient in managing meetings and facilitating group discussions and decision-
  • making.
  • Effective problem solver with a proven track record of positive outcomes.
  • Resilient and adaptable to changing situations.
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands to meet objectives.
  • Experienced in interfacing between ICT services and business functions.

Information Security Practices

  • Hands-on knowledge of security technology, trends, and threats.
  • Practical understanding of information security industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements that are relevant to financial institutions.
  • Relevant experience with security products, concepts, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
  • Experience in developing, designing, and implementing management frameworks, processes, standards, and procedures.
  • Practical experience in developing policies, standards, and procedures.
