The redeveloped hospital is a digital hospital, equipped with leading edge technology to assist staff to provide the highest level of care and comfort to patients. It is the first regional hospital in Queensland to have the complete integrated electronic medical record.
 
The hospital is accredited for training with a number of the colleges and is closely affiliated to the local and regional medical school so academic opportunities are available.
