Talent is searching for a Senior Network Engineer to join our Commercial Client in the Energy sector.

  • Initial 3 month daily rate contract
  • Up to $1010 inc p/d
  • Based in Brisbane CBD // 3 days on site & 2 WFH

Position Purpose:

You will plan, coordinate, implement and maintain data communication services, with a focus on maximum availability and performance to customers. This involves the delivery, support, administration and maintenance of Firewalls, Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Monitoring, Cisco VOIP, security, access control, video conferencing and other communication and security technologies

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to establish effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Proven ability to design network and communication solutions, ensuring delivery on projects and performance and availability of ICT systems.
  • Proven ability to work in a team maintaining network and communication solutions, ensuring participation on projects and performance and availability of communication infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to document technical concepts and designs.
  • Proven ability to analyse data to identify trend and exceptions.
  • Significant knowledge and ability to install and configure data networks and voice systems.
  • Significant knowledge on physical security systems such as access control and closed circuit television systems.
  • Ability to utilise critical thinking, judgement, and experience to define, analyse, and resolve incidents and problems.
  • Ability to express high level solution design in terms that are understandable to both business stakeholders and the technical resources that need to develop detailed solution design.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilise a high level of initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Strong customer focus, managing high priority faults/requests that have a critical business impact, while ensuring the optimum escalation process with internal support groups and third parties.

Responsibilities and outcomes

  • Provide front-line support for business critical communication technologies, ensuring the minimum turn-a-round time on the resolution of associated incidents. Such technologies would include but not be limited to CCTV, SCADA networks, Intrusion Prevention Systems and Video Conferencing.
  • Review and complete incidents in the ICT call ticketing system.
  • Create, approve and peer review change requests in the ICT call ticketing system.
  • Perform analysis, design and implementation of capital project initiatives and assisting in the successful delivery of ICT projects.
  • Provide design and analytical support for LAN/WAN network improvements and enhancements.
  • Responsibility for the monitoring and high availability of core ICT facility equipment. UPS, racks, cooling and security appliances.
  • Participate in generation of monthly service assurance reports.
  • Ensure minimum standards for hardware, IOS revisions, peripherals, are kept.
  • Support and participate in major corporate projects.
  • Proven ability to manage Cisco ASA and Palo Alto PAN environments.
