About the role

The Volunteer Coordinator will serve as the lead person for volunteer recruitment, training, engagement, retention, and evaluation of volunteer activity, while effectively and efficiently coordinating the SCS volunteer program schedule in accordance with the organisational policies and procedures.

You will successfully

  • Develop and maintain a wide range of volunteer activities and programs, working with internal and external stakeholders as required within the guidelines of Organisational governance.
  • Ensure all volunteers have a clearly defined position description upon commencement, and that all paper work is completed, they are appropriately trained, supervised and recognized for their contribution.
  • Evaluation and analysis of all aspects of the volunteer program in a timely manner to identify trends and determine if program objectives and outcomes have been met.
  • Recruitment selection, training and support to ensure volunteers have an appropriate full induction to the programs, and show an understanding of services and activities being delivered.
  • Schedule and implement volunteer rosters for programs, oversee the volunteer budget and act as a single point of communication for volunteer communications.
  • Maintain healthy volunteer relationships and adhere to volunteer management best practice, ensure recognition and appreciation for volunteers is carried out.
  • Monitor the performance and compliance of volunteers to ensure duties are performed in a safe and professional manner in line with organisational values and governance.
  • Risk assessments completed for volunteers as required.

This is a full-time, permanent position, located in Surry Hills, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Level 3 Award.

You will have

  • Previous experience managing volunteers desirable
  • A national police record check is required
