Job Description

We are looking for a Community Grants and Volunteer Liaison Coordinator to support our growing Campaigns and Participation Team. In this exciting new role, you will support our network and branches with resources and grants as part of our national Citizen Science, Conservation Volunteering and Community activism strategy.

We have set ambitious new targets to put birds and nature on the path to recovery as part of our Bird Conservation Strategy Combining the best scientific expertise, partnership with institutions and communities and the unique capacity of birds to engage and spark joy, the Bird Conservation Strategy aims to halt overall bird population declines by 2050.

The Community Grants and Volunteer Liaison Coordinator will work with BirdLife Australia staff, Network branches and external volunteer groups to identify resourcing sources and develop grant applications.

The role will help shape funding applications and support staff and volunteers to acquit and administer successful grants. The role will also oversee the administration of the BirdLife Australia Community Grants portfolio worth approximately $80,000 annually.

What you will bring to the team

The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience writing grants and funding applications in a not-for-profit sector. Your excellent people and communication skills including the ability to build rapport and liaise with diverse staff and volunteers will enable you to work collaboratively with all our internal and external stakeholders.

You will have competence in financial administration combined with demonstrated skills in coordination and time management.

This is a full-time role on a continual contract which comes with an attractive salary package of $81,548 per annum plus 10.5% super
