Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role will be responsible for maintenance of our equipment and site facilities. Driving front line reactive and preventative maintenance. It will also be responsible for building internal and external capability of our Operations and Contractor teams to improve their ability to trouble shoot issues so we can ensure problems are resolved as quickly as possible. Continually reviewing our maintenance operations, look for areas of improvement and be proactive with maintaining equipment and spare parts while controlling costs.

The Role

Every day at Krispy Kreme presents different challenges and while you will need to be flexible and adaptable to meet them all, there are some tasks that will form the backbone of your work as a Maintenance Technician.

  • Comply with all requirements of the contract and meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Planning labour and maintenance activities in conjunction with maintenance manager and production manager.

  • Providing maintenance contractors and production teams with technical support for reactive and planned maintenance activities.

  • Planning required resources for maintenance activities including equipment, parts and materials.

  • Hands on troubleshooting support including afterhours on call requirement.

  • Facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions using RCA guidelines to identify failure causes, containment and countermeasures as necessary.

  • Spare parts management.

  • Training and supervision for contractors with clear outcomes and responsibilities.

  • Qualifications

  • Trade background or technical education.
  • Minimum 7 years of in FMCG environment.
  • Maintenance and reliability systems (CMMS – MEX) highly regarded 
  • Strong mechanical and some electrical expertise in trouble shooting and problem solving
  • Experience involving equipment installation, maintenance and operation
  • Proficient in MS word and Excel
