Overview:

  • Multiple positions available: 1x Full-time, Fixed Term position for 3 years and 1x Full-time, Fixed Term position for 12 months

  • Salary Level Academic A6 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements

  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University

About the Role
As the Research Assistant, you will undertake research activities in line with the University’s research strategy. It is expected that you will work with an increasing degree of autonomy as skills and experience develop.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have the following Key Selection Criteria:

  • Research experience in solar thermal technology, graphene, different sensors, laser fabrication, nanophotonic design, electrocatalysis, photocatalysis, piezocatalysis, next-generation battery and supercapacitor.

  • Evidence of research output including publications, conference contributions and/or technical reports in the field.

  • Ability to generate alternative funding projects through effective liaison with industry and government.

  • Ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment, including the demonstrated ability to confidently and effectively work with colleagues, project team leaders, and industry partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required.

  • Demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

Mandatory: Qualification in the relevant discipline areas including materials science, chemistry, physics, nanotechnology, relevant engineering, etc., and have their PhD degrees.
