Novotel Surfers Paradise is conveniently located in the heart of Surfers Paradise and our beautiful iconic beaches. The hotel features 408 rooms, along with a variety of dining options including The Restaurant, Blvd Café and Bar, Pool bar and room service. We offer a professional and relaxed atmosphere, providing genuine hospitality for our guests. For our guests wanting to unwind, we offer a heated outdoor swimming pool & spa, tennis courts and a gym. For our conferencing & events guests, we have 6 modern function rooms available, accommodating up to 500 delegates.

A unique full-time opportunity as Housekeeping Team Leader has become available in our housekeeping leadership team. In this role your will, be reporting directly to both the Assistant Manager, Housekeeping and our Executive Housekeeper to ensure we maintain exemplary cleanliness standards and presentation of guest’s rooms, public areas and heart of house areas.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Inspecting rooms and ensuring standards are maintained to hotel brand standards.
  • Assisting the Housekeeping Management team in the day to day operations of all areas of the Housekeeping department.
  • Opening/closing shifts and allocating rooms for the housekeeping team
  • Checking rooms to ensure presentation and cleanliness standards are consistently maintained and rooms released.
  • Impeccably presenting all public areas
  • Communicating on a daily basis with the Housekeeping Management team and respective departments to ensure an effective flow of communication.
  • Providing “on the job” training and inductions to support our energetic housekeeping team. 
  • Briefing team members providing updates and key OHS updates.
  • Logging lost property; assisting with guests requests and resolving guest complaints.
  • What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience training and leading a housekeeping team
  • A can-do positive attitude & service with a smile
  • A high level of attention to detail whilst having good time management skills 
  • Good working knowledge of HotSOS and housekeeping policies and procedures
  • Flexible in your availability to work during peak periods including weekends and public holidays
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills
  • A passion for hospitality and guest service
  • A keen eye for detail with a hands-on approach
