About the role

The Technical Content Writer role is key to successfully delivering on a class leading user experience through the communication of easy-to-use technical documentation for B&D Groups product portfolio. The role sits within the innovation team and is responsible for the creation, updating and control of technical writing and technical artwork requirements for both Doors and Automation sides of the business. The role supports all B&D Group brands both locally and internationally. 

Our “all-in-day” will give you an opportunity for collaboration with the B&D Head office team in Keysborough.

This role is an 8 month fixed term contract, part time, 4 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize installation manuals, quick setup guides, technical specifications, and product artwork drawings.
  • Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements.
  • Projects of multiple technical writing tasks managed with appropriate processes and project management tools.
  • Updates, edits, and proofreads written materials such as product manuals, installation manuals and quick operation guides.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex technical topics.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong understanding of document control – version control and file management.
  • Proven ability to develop easy to use installation manuals, quick setup guides, technical specifications, and product artwork drawings for multiple audiences.
  • Knowledge and proven ability with Adobe InDesign and Illustrator
