The role

This is an exciting new role to assist in building Macquarie’s data and analytics capabilities within the Non-Financial Risk space, by supporting a recently expanded team. We are looking for someone who can provide guidance through their expertise of data and analytics within non-financial risk. You’ll own relationships with stakeholders and lead various initiatives, overseeing the design, development, and utilisation of data for risk management use cases, whilst taking your team along with you and ensuring they have the tools to perform at their best.

You will also:

  • Foster relationships with a broad network of internal stakeholders and become a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders in risk
  • Define and deliver a strategic roadmap of high-value data initiatives and use cases
  • Ensure data resources and data priorities are aligned with business objectives
  • Project manage and lead a cross functional delivery team of Data Engineers, Data Management Analysts, Report Developers, and end users
  • Champion data products and assist customers with gaining insights and value by using data
  • Develop strong relationships with your team to become a trusted coach and mentor

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Ideally at least 5+ years combined experience in data and analytics with experience in risk and financial services/banking
  • A natural leader, your ability to motivate and influence others will be well evidenced in your effective communication style
  • You will also be passionate about using data to solve business problems and expanding the use of data in new applications.

At Macquarie, we are working to a hybrid model. Successful candidates for this role will be working from our Sydney office at least 3x days per week, to support your development and strengthen your working relationships. About the Risk Management Group
The Risk Management Group (RMG) is an independent, centralised unit responsible for ensuring all risk across Macquarie are appropriately assessed and managed. Its divisions include Behavioural Risk, Compliance, Credit, Financial Crime Risk, Internal Audit, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Regulatory Affairs and Aggregate Risk, and RMG Enterprise Support.
