Medina Manor is conveniently located in Thornbury within the heart of Melbourne’s North. Medina Manor is recognised for its expertise in caring for people living with Dementia and provides an enabling environment that focuses on person centred care, that is unique to each person’s individual needs and preferences.

About the Opportunity

As a Cook, you will provide quality food services to residents and provide kitchen and food preparation support to our Chef.  

  • Ensure delicious, well-balanced and nutritional meals are planned, prepared and presented to meet the needs of our residents
  • Assist with general food preparation, kitchen duties and stock control
  • Purchase and order stock and equipment
  • Plan and manage the food and kitchen budget

This is a permanent part time position working Mondays and Sundays: 7am – 3pm (30 hours per fortnight).

About You

To be successful, you’ll need:

  • Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery or higher
  • Previous experience in aged care is desirable but not essential 
  • Knowledge of good hygiene practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families and co-workers
