We are currently seeking a Boiler Assistant to join our Production Team located at the Proserpine Mill.

The role is based at the Proserpine Mill and will suit someone who is self-motivated and doesn’t need close supervision. Previous related experience is not essential as we will provide training for a person who displays the right aptitude and team fit.

The role may be Seasonal or Permanent dependent on the successful candidate’s year round skill set and this will be determined on a case by case basis by Management. The position involves continuous shift work during the crushing season, weekend work and some overtime may be required.

Primary responsibilities:

The focus of the role in the Crushing Season is to carry out general surveillance’s over the entire Boiler Station from the head of No. 3 conveyor to the bagasse bin including fly ash. The aim being to ensure efficient operation of the station and identification of problem areas as soon as possible for the information of the Boiler Operator to enable immediate rectification.

Turbine ticket or ability to obtain

Confined space entry and working at heights qualifications

A demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with a whole range of people

A true team player who understands the value of teamwork and doesn’t need to be asked to contribute

Excellent attention to detail

Someone who takes personal responsibility and accountability seriously
